Supported Whig candidates in the 1840 election. Mayor of Portland Maine 1851-52. and again 3 years later. State House member and Civil War officer, Confederate prisoner and more in this rather colorful history for Dow. Worth some part of your time. English plate and see Prohibition back marks. Scarce.
