About 3” tall. Murphy was a Republican and Governor of NJ from 1902-1905. He founded the Murphy Varnish Company in Newark NY in 1865. We think this might relate to this company’s activities. He was also a hopeful in the 1908 National Convention for the VP slot alongside Taft but was not selected. Light browning on cell top bar. Image clear. Appears to be an early W&H impression on reverse.
