Early beardless image. We think this is a copy of an earlier Lincoln and appears to be a reverse image of an ambrotype by Abraham M. Byers on May 7, 1858. We think the white linen coat in the original images is seen in this image. Light exposure of dag which makes seeing the details of the edges of the image tough to see. Some scratches which likely means this image has been cleaned in the past. Half case with sticker remnants on glass in lower right which can be cleaned. Original dags and ambrotypes of Lincoln are way beyond what 99% of us can afford. But 2nd generation copies of those images are within reach. Has not been dismounted from case.
