1864 Political Anti-Pierce and Anti-Copperhead, New Hampshire Broadside “Copperheads in Council”

Shrink-wrapped and nicely matted. Visible about 16 ½” x 11 ½”. Pro-Lincoln and with quotes recounts how politicians, who are “Copperheads”, stand on the war and slavery. Incredible broadside for a Northern state in New England that had candidates who opening supported the South and that cause, even late in the Civil War. Vignette in center appears to be made especially for this broadside as each of the snakes has a name which corresponds to a person who has been quoted. Pierce was a leader in the Knights of the Golden Circle at the time. Appears excellent and ready to frame. Quite scarce with a rare content.
